BIO

"If you have ever seen live music in Southern California (or the U.S. for that matter), odds are good that you have seen bassist/vocalist Sammy Burke. He is an unstoppable gigging machine who is always in demand due to his extensive bass skills, great feel, super versatility, encyclopedic repertoire, killer groove, round tone and consistent professionalism."

- Fred Shook, touring drummer/percussionist

Born and raised in Los Angeles, Sammy's been creating music since eleven years of age...and has never looked back. Throughout high school, he focused on being the best at his craft, playing in jazz bands and showcasing his talent in cover bands on the weekends. He started hitting the Hollywood hotspots and ran into rock-n-roll bands along the famous 'Sunset Strip', including Johnny Thunders, Guns n Roses, and punk acts Channel 3 and Agent Orange. Making contacts along the way, Sammy started to work on his second love, recording music.

Sammy has been recording, performing, and touring with the group Echo Love Chamber since 1995. Their band has shared the stage with national acts such as Missing Persons and The Motels and have performed with guest musicians Jamie Wollam (Tears For Fears), Koko Powell (Edgar Winter Group), Jeremy and A.J. Popoff (Lit), Ray Parker Jr., and Roger Capps (Pat Benetar) among others.

Recently, Sammy has joined forces with singer-songwriter John McCloy to work on his original project. Their eponymous CD has been played on radio stations throughout the country.

Sammy has also performed as a guest artist with some of the best in the business, such as Stanley Jordan, Kenwood Dennard (Brand X, Jaco Pastorius), Walter Ino (Survivor), Mike Glendenning (Oingo Boingo Dance Party), Chris Slade (AC/DC, The Firm, Manfred Mann), Jim Wheeler (Kenny Loggins), Jimmy Keegan (Spock's Beard, Asia), Jimmy Paxson (Stevie Nicks, Edgar Winter, Alanis Morrisett), Matt Fuller and Dave 'Chili' Moreno (Puddle of Mudd), and Glen Sobel (Alice Cooper).

Since 2013, Sammy has been working in the tribute band market, performing at major venues, casinos, festivals and fairs throughout the country with acts including REMitation, The Fooz Fighters, The Pink Floyd Sound, KISSed Alive!, The Rising, Cheapest Trick and Petty or Not. As a member of the Billy Idol tribute act Generation Idol, he was featured nationally on AXS TV's 'World's Greatest Tribute Bands'.

He currently works as the bassist for the John McCloy Band and Echo Love Chamber, and continues to work in sessions and shows for numerous cover and tribute acts throughout Southern California.
